HISTORY

CP Architects was formed in 2004 as a natural progression and mutual separation of Crerar and Partners offices in Oban and Edinburgh with a view to continuing the principles of community based architecture with a young and enthusiastic team of architects and designers.

Crerar & Partners was established in Oban in 1960 by Bill Crerar with a strong emphasis on housing, community and leisure industries, expanding throughout Scotland with offices in Edinburgh, Stirling and Inverness providing architectural input to the developing hotel and leisure industries throughout Scotland and the UK.

Iain Campbell joined the Oban office under Principle Roger Parry in 1993, becoming Associate in 1998 and Partner in 2000 developing the existing broad work base in retail, leisure, community and affordable housing projects throughout the Highlands and Islands.

The practice has always placed great importance on training and developing the skills of staff. In line with this principle Iain established the new practice as Principle in 2004 and Roger Parry continued in the role of Consultant.
