Project Description
The project involved the complete refurbishment and extension of the existing dilapidated shop recently brought under community ownership. This enabled the existing building to be upgraded and provide a more flexible and attractive retail layout including a new stair to improve public access to upper sales area.
A natural slate roof and white render provide a robust and low maintenance finish following traditional form in the village and a new larch clad entrance porch and covered entrance area under a lead roof provide a new identity and focus for the community shop to thrive and adapt to its island needs.
