A detailed site analysis and discussions with the local planning officer led to a home that harmonizes with its surroundings while incorporating traditional architectural elements. The design features three distinct sections: a bedroom wing, a kitchen/dining/living wing, and a snug, with the living wing rotated for optimal views. The simple rectangular forms with dual pitched and hipped roofs are inspired by local rock outcrops and designed to blend with the terraced hillside.

Materials include blue-grey zinc and high-quality timber cladding with the roof and walls laid out in varied zinc panel widths which was selected to reflect the local limestone colours. Triple-glazed windows enhance energy efficiency and provide expansive panoramic views from Ben Nevis sweeping east over Loch Creran mountains to Cruachan and south towards the Paps of Jura. Constructed on suspended steel columns and floor frame results in minimal site disturbance and the SIPS timber frame provides energy efficiency all year-round.
