Project Description
The proposed development forms part of a wider plan to provide an offshore fish cage site around the NE coast of Rum and new shore base facility at the existing pier head.
Staff accommodation is provided within the southern edge of Kinloch Forest in a linear 2 storey block with individual ensuite bedrooms and communal kitchen/living areas together with a detached Manager’s House.
Carbon Dynamic’s factory in Invergordon provided off site modularsystem manufacture delivered by road and barge to Dynamic’s site which allowed a reduced construction period on site. Factory conditions enabled exceptional levels of insulation and air tightness providing a cost effective low energy solution.
Metal clad roofs and walls with larch cladding in natural weather finish allowed the development to sit comfortably within this sensitive island site with open aspect to Hallival mountain to the south.
